A Pleasant Cruise
10th June 1942 Tough, hard work was loading. 2708 tonnes of who knows what, crates angled through to small hatches and I nearly lost a finger when the winches jammed. Still, this is nice. A gentle slide North, calm seas and nothing but the occasional crabber to be seen. Crew are friendly, ships rolling a bit and I got queasy in the bay, but it’s settled down now. Bet it won’t always be like this.
