Harbour Sighted

Harbour Sighted

24th July 1942 Got picked up. By HMS Ayrshire, knew the Navy wouldn’t forget us. She transferred us to the Troubadour. It was her crew who used tanks as anti-aircraft, I wasn’t seeing things. It’s been cat and mouse ever since, hiding in fog, sailing when the weather gets bad. I can see the port now, bombers everywhere, fire, guns, looks like hell. Hope we make it.

1.2M x 68cm Acrylic on canvas. Unframed £400.
