Landfall

13th July 1942: We rowed for 6 days, skipper pulled us through, kept us going, kept us rowing, kept us talking. Got to a coast, Novaya Zemlya I’m told. Not much here, some Geese and Gulls but we ate them. Met some more shipwrecked sailors, from the Fairfield City, near us in the van she was. We’re going looking for help
